DR. RUTH WATSON
M.B.B.S., F.R.A.C. Psych. Med.
I graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1977, and after completing hospital training at the Prince of Wales Hospital and its’ linked hospitals, I underwent General Practice training in the Family Medicine Program. Since then I have experienced great satisfaction with working in General Practice in various parts of Sydney and I have been with MC Family Medical Practice for 28 years. This continuity is very special and I count it an amazing privilege to be able to care for several different generations of various families over the years. Consequently I am now at the stage where unfortunately I am not able to accept any new patients.
All aspects of General Practice interest me, including the medical, surgical and sports medicine fields, and I also have a specific interest in mental health, participating in diagnosis, management and counselling in this area. I am a Fellow of the Australian Society of Psychological Medicine. Consequently, I have a holistic approach to caring for my patients, being interested in every aspect of their lives if they choose to share it with, without being intrusive. I try to be friendly, thorough and perceptive in my work.
I am married, with two children and three grandchildren. I love playing the piano (with my A Mus A), singing, reading books and gardening.
I have always appreciated working in a team and find that the excellence and supportiveness of the doctors and other staff at MC Family Medical Practice is and has always been a great incentive to come to work each week!
PLEASE NOTE THAT DR WATSON IS NOT TAKING ANY NEW PATIENTS - THANK YOU.
